It was the most shocking elimination in Dancing with the Stars season 22. Three couples were in jeopardy, one of which included leaderboard favorite Wanya Morris. In the end, Von Miller and Kim Fields were given their walking papers to the surprise of many backstage and in the audience. Fields noted that she was in total shock, saying she “didn’t see this coming.” While she should not have been eliminated, we’re at that stage in the competition where good contestants are going to go home, and *that* has to be expected.
For more reaction, check back here in the morning for all the backstage interviews. In the meantime, let’s get to the evening’s dances, and who got the first perfect score of the season!
Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe: I’ve never grimaced so much watching rehearsal packages as I do with Jodie and Keo. Last week we almost saw a broken nose and a fractured ankle, and tonight we got the most uncomfortable-sounding cracking of the back. Thankfully, their quickstep was much more pleasant to watch. Len and Bruno agreed, giving Jodie her first two 9s of the season. Score: 26/30
Kim Fields & Sasha Farber: Kim and Sasha looked more appropriate for the Met Gala in their futuristic neon ensembles than the ballroom. Viewers were better for it, as Kim nailed the routine “from top to bottom” per Carrie Ann Inaba. And as Len Goodman simply explained: “That was as simple as A, B, C. That was your best dance of the season.” Score: 27/30
